The Enduring Good Deeds

Al-Fudayl Ibn ‘Iyad رحمه الله said:

“If you are able to be unknown, then do so. What does it matter to you if no one knows you? What does it matter to you that no one praises you? Why would it matter to you that you are criticized by the people if you are considered praiseworthy by Allah?”
